Iconic Guitar Hits Auction Block: One of the most recognisable Fender Stratocasters, owned by legendary Irish guitarist Rory Gallagher, is set to be auctioned at Bonhams this fall. Estimated between $900,000 and $1.28 million, this 1961 Strat was Gallagherâs lifelong companion, shaping his career and influencing stars like Brian May and Bob Dylan. Despite its worn finish, the guitar remains a symbol of Gallagherâs legacy as âthe greatest guitarist youâve never heard ofâ.

Digital Collectibles Shape Athlete Legacies: NFTs and blockchain-based gaming are revolutionising fan interactions with pro sports, says Matt Novogratz, Co-Founder of Candy Digital. This technology allows fans to own digital collectibles, immortalising iconic moments and deepening their connection to athletes. The role of digital collectibles in shaping athlete legacies will be transformative, redefining athlete-fan engagement, democratising access to sports memorabilia, and preserving pivotal moments in sporting history. By embracing blockchain-based collectibles, athletes can control their digital presence and narrative, transcending traditional sports marketing to leave a lasting imprint on the digital landscape.
Goldman Sachs Embraces Crypto: Goldman Sachs is diving into the crypto space, planning to launch three tokenisation projects by yearâs end. Amid rising client interest, the bank aims to tokenise assets like real estate on blockchains. Despite internal scepticism, Goldmanâs involvement in Bitcoin ETFs and crypto derivatives signals strong momentum. Regulatory changes could further boost their crypto ambitions, making Goldman a key player in digital finance.

đ The Rolling Stonesâ Greatest Hits Hit Major Milestone: The Rolling Stones continue to rock the U.K. charts, hitting a new milestone with their greatest hits album, Forty Licks. This week, it clocks 104 weeks on the U.K. albums chartâa full two years, a first for the band. Though it slips slightly from No. 82 to No. 88, its longevity is impressive. Forty Licks is the Stonesâ only album to stay on the chart for triple digits, far surpassing their self-titled album and Rolled Gold, which have 51 and 50 weeks respectively. Debuting at No. 2 in October 2002, Forty Licks has shown remarkable staying power, especially since its 2023 comeback. Rock on!
The Rolling Stones are still rocking it, as they continue their legacy with their recent album. Thatâs why we decided to add a special bottle from Suntory to our whisky portfolio. Bottled in 2021, it celebrates the 50th anniversary of the band. An iconic piece that â hopefully â will also rock our usersâ portfolio with great future returns. It will be available on the 25th of July 2024.

đBurberryâs Not Looking So Chic Right Now: Burberryâs taking quite the tumble this week! Its stock plummeted 20% thanks to a profit warning, a sudden CEO switcheroo and a dividend dropâall in one go. The slowdown in trading triggered Burberryâs gloomy forecast, hinting at losses ahead. Jonathan Akeroyd has made an exit, replaced by Joshua Shulman, whoâs got serious creds from his time at Coach and Jimmy Choo. Lindsell Train UK Equity, the top shareholder, and other big investors like Finsbury Growth and Income are still backing Burberry, hoping the new leadership can bring back the sparkle. Their confidence lies in Burberryâs rich heritage and potential for a comeback. And for all the collectors out there, donât fret! While the stockâs having a moment, your cherished Burberry coat is still a timeless classic, likely to remain a coveted piece in the fashion world.
While many luxury brands seem to struggle due to decreasing profits, others continue to do very well. One of them is HermĂšs. While the stock is up more than 7% YTD, the iconic Birkin bag can be a profitable investment, as the supply is very limited and the demand remains incredibly high. That is why we decided to add another HermĂšs Birkin bag to our portfolio. It will be available on the 24th of July 2024.
